‘Pennington’s Chekhov’ is the story of an actor’s obsession with one of the greatest playwrights that ever lived. Tonight’s film takes the form of a journey through the mind of Michael Pennington, one of the country’s leading classical actors, as he discovers for himself unknown facets in the personality of Anton Chekhov.

This imaginary journey from Japan, through Siberia, leads ultimately to the National Theatre in London where Pennington revels his personal view of Chekhov.
